A new gourmet adress did open in spring on the Place Pigalle. On two floors you can find at Le Marché des Gastronomes products of high quality : meet, cheese, wine, vegetables.
The accent is on french products and small bio productors. You also can find soups, jams and chocolats bio.
The wines and champagnes are reasonably priced. On the first floor they will start a small restaurant.
Even if you are not interested in food (?) the location itself is historic with art déco interiors, it used to be a hangout of many painters and writers.

The oldest covered market in Paris, the Marché des Enfants Rouges was established in the early 1600s and remains a center of Marais life.
A new structure has replaced the original, but it still houses cheesemongers, vintners and grocers.
Better there’s a bounty of small restaurants that resembles a Benneton ad : Italian, Japanese, French, Afro-Caribbean, Middle-Eastern.
Enter the market at Rue Charlot.

The organic market on Boulevard Raspail and Av. d’Iéna is endless, and fantastic on the weekend.
Tuesday through Saturday at 7 a.m., there are market stalls along this street, between rue du Cherche-Midi and rue de Rennes until 2:30 p.m. On Sundays it is a purely organic market, or, as the French say, biologique. That’s from 9-3.
